Funeral services for James Preston JP Duke will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Rock Corner Baptist Church in Dubach, LA. Brother Larry Bullock will officiate. Interment will follow at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 4PM-until PM at Rock Corner Family Life Center.James Preston JP Duke, 78, of Dubach, LA, passed away February 24, 2018. He was born July 8, 1939 to Wista and Garland Duke. He was a lifetime resident of Dubach, LA. He worked at Kerr-McGee for many years until his retirement. His hobbies that he loved were working with his honeybees and at his sawmill. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and wonderful friend.JP was preceded in death by his parents, Wista and Garland Duke. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ann Dumas Duke; his three sons: Jeffery Duke and wife Renee, Todd Duke and wife Theresa, and Jason Duke and wife Sarah; grandchildren: Patrick Duke, Christopher Duke and wife April, Blake Jeffers and wife Brittni, Jake Duke and wife Kalynne, Landry Duke, Gracie Duke, and Carson Duke. Great grandchildren are Daniel Duke, Ansaley Duke, Henley Duke, and Karter Duke; sister, Louella Howard; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews, and many good friends.Pallbearers will be Jason Duke, Patrick Duke, Christopher Duke, Blake Jeffers, Jake Duke, Landry Duke, Michael Hammons, and Marty Hammons. Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Dumas, Bobby Hammons, and Jack Dumas.
