Funeral services for Ora Belle “BoBo” Williamson, age 96 of Dubach, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Tipton and Rev. Larry Bullock officiating. Interment will follow in Mineral Springs Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Ora Belle Williamson, a resident of the Mineral Springs Community and a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church passed away October 29, 2017. Ora was born July 2, 1921 in Vienna, LA to Annie and Emmitt Williamson. Ora attended schools in Ruston, LA and was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. She taught school in Lisbon, Springhill, and Sulphur, LA for several years prior to joining Delta Airlines where she enjoyed a 45 year career. She traveled extensively, domestically and abroad, to many countries and worked in Delta’s London location as well. She was a member of the Lady Bird Express train tour during Lyndon B. Johnson’s presidential campaign. She officially represented Delta Air Lines at the origin of NASA in New Orleans, LA. Ora was a long time resident of New Orleans and a faithful member of First Baptist Church while in New Orleans. Ora returned to her home place in Mineral Springs after hurricane Katrina.

Ora was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Dalton and Maurice. She is survived by her sister Gladys Lambeth of Houston, TX, Five nieces, One nephew, a number of great nieces, great nephews, and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers are John Driskill, J.D. Driskill, Clint Driskill, Lamar Hancock, Steve Hancock, and Chad Pody. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Welch and Jim Lambeth.
