January 24, 1940 - March 4, 2017
Richard Cavender, age 77, of Martin, LA passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Richard was born in Lincoln Parish and spent most of his life in Bernice, LA along with the rest of his family. Richard was a farmer, a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend; he will be dearly missed. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Clarice Cavender; sister, Tommie Cavender Evans, also from Bernice, LA; and brother, Henry Lee Cavender of Shreveport, LA. Richard is survived by three sisters: Dorothy Thomas of Shreveport, LA, and Carrie Rudolph, and Johnette Malone, both of Keithville, LA. Richard also had 4 nieces, one nephew, and four great nephews. Although Richard is gone, we will forever hold him close in our hearts and can proudly say the world was a better place with him here; and he will be gravely missed. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 1 PM at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Dubach, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
