World Bantamweight Boxing Champion who fought under the name Peter Herman.

Peter Herman Gulotta was born February 17, 1896 in New Orleans into the Italian family of Cologero Gulotta and Epifania Marie "Fannie" Cicero. He began his boxing career at a very early age and by 1917 he was World Bantamweight Boxing Champion. He held that title on two different occasions, January 9, 1917 to December 26, 1920 and July 25, 1921 to September 23, 1921. In 1921 his eyesight began to fail and eventually he would be totally blind. He married Annie LeBlanc on November 4, 1917 and they would have three children: Rita Gulotta, Rosemary Gulotta and Peter Herman Gulatto, Jr (who died at birth). He died April 14, 1973 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
