He enlisted on August 23, 1861 at Camp Moore, Louisiana. His name appeared on Roll as a Prisoner of War on May 4, 1865, when the Confederate States Army surrendered at Citronelle, Alabama. He was paroled in Meridian, Mississippi on May 13, 1865.
