He enlisted in Fort Smith, Arkansas on October 29, 1861. The Company Muster Roll for September - October 1862 reported he was discharged from service on September 29, 1862. A Certificate of Disability was issued for Incurable Disease of the Whole Scalp Rendering Him Permanently Unfit.
