Funeral services for Penn Bankston, 61, of Farmerville will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Wayne Whiteside officiating. Burial will be in Mt Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
Mr. Bankston went to his heavenly home on March 11, 2018. Penn was a native of Bastrop, La. moving to Farmerville in 1972. Penn started his career as a pipeliner and welder offshore. He then spent 18 years with Willamette Industry in Lillie, La. as a Supervisor. Penn retired from Gardner Denver as an Electronic Technician. Mr. Penn enjoyed his work and the relationships that he built throughout the years. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and didn’t expect anything in return. After retirement, he enjoyed hunting and saying that he was fishing, but he was truly enjoying himself just riding around in his boat.
Mr. Bankston was preceded in death by his parents, Penn D. & Bobbie Jean Bankston; and sister, Rosemary Fitzgerald.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife and High School sweetheart of 42 years, Pat Nolan Bankston; one son, Penn T. Bankston “Ted” and wife, Jessica of Farmerville; one sister, Sheila Cook of Farmerville; two grandchildren, Deacon and Ava Bankston; nieces and nephews, Ashley Fitzgerald, Thomas Cook, Mike Coulbertson, Matt Coulbertson, Dusty Nolan, Chris Nolan, Christina Lessard, Angela Kelley, Mylania Nolan, Breanna Nolan and Steven Wallace Nolan; and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Randy Smith, John Wortham, Kinnith Johnston, Charlie Johnston, Matt Coulbertson, Mike Coulbertson, Jeff Nolan, Stanley Cruse, Joe Cruse, Donald Cruse, Ricky Graham and Robert Rachal.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, Tuesday, March 13th, at Crestview Baptist Church.
