Terry L. Day, Sr., 59 of Downsville, La, formerly of Ruston, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Union General Hospital in Farmerville.
He was a devoted father and grandfather and an active member of Temple Baptist Church, in Ruston. Terry was a 1968 graduate of Greenville High and a 1972 graduate of Ole Miss. He worked for several lumber companies in his career as a corporate salesman. After retiring, he accumulated real estate property in and around Ruston. He was semi-retired upon his untimely death.
Services will be held at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston on July 6,2009 at 10AM Interment will follow at Rock Corner Cemetery, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.
His mother Alice "Tinker" Day and his father Hansel L. Day preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Patricia, sons Terry L. Day Jr, Bryan K. Day and wife Melanie, daughter Lesley D. Bishop and husband Lee. Eight grandchildren: Trey, Trevor, Madison, and Trent Day, Tyler Day and Justin Throckmorten, Brooke and Cannon Bishop. Two brothers, Don N. Day and Mary Jane of Jena, La., and Dennis C. Day and Kathy of Greenville, Ms., and one sister, Denise Day Moody and John of Jena, La. And numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Andy Day, Adam Day, Dannon Tingle, Thomas McQuillin, Fred Cooper, and Gerald Rugg.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 5, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston
