William M PRICE married Martha Ann Pelt November 3, 1842 in Meridian (Lauderdale County), Mississippi. They were the parents of 7 children (4 boys, 3 girls). They made moves to Smith, Rankin, and Lawrence Counties Mississippi before making final move (after the Civil War) to Catahoula Parish, Louisiana William M. was a Mason.

William was by trade a farmer. There are many records where he would enter into "Deeds of Trust" where he would borrow money pledging personal property against a loan in case he did not make crops to sell to pay back the loan. Itappears that in 1871 that this cycle was broken when William transfers title to his real property for a loan of 1870.

The move to Catahoula Parish was again a family move sometime after the land transaction of 1871. This was during Reconstruction when taxes were high and money was scarce along with hard political times. William's health might also have been a factor in the family moving as he died in 1876.

William and Martha Ann share a common obelisk grave stone (probably as they shared lives - as one). On William's side is the following inscription:
"Remember Friends
As You Pass By
That All Mankind
Is Born to Die
Then Let Your
Cares on Christ
Be Cast, That You
May Dwell With Him
At Last"

William was of Baptist faith. He is recognized as a Deacon and charter member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Lawrence County, Mississippi.
