Obituary
Funeral Services for Mr. Robert Harper, 88, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Lapine Assembly of God Church Cemetery in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Harper was born on August 9, 1925 in Center, TX and passed away on March 4, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side. He was an Army Veteran and Prisoner of War during WWII. Mr. Harper loved the Lord. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where he enjoyed going to church on Sunday's and also having his favorite meal after church. Mr. Harper worked hard at everything he did throughout his life. His love for family was his biggest and best interest. He was Santa Claus to all his children and grandchildren. Mr. Harper was the best daddy, grandfather, friend and father-in-law that there could ever be. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Harper and his two granddaughters, Melinda Huey and Amanda Harper.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Harper; children, Donna Massey and husband, Ronnie; Cookie Murphy and husband, Lil Joe; Ethel Pounders and husband, David; Roy Harper and wife, Charlotte; Step daughters, Martha Peritt and husband, Bobby and Mary Alice Dunn and husband, Carl; and numerous grandchildren

Pallbearers will be Greg Maxwell, Brad Harper, Rickey Nomey, Virgil Dunn, Richard Dunn, and Steven Reeves.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until Service Time on Thursday at the church.
