Pat Dempsey, 77, of Mooringsport, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020. A graveside funeral will be held at 10 am on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Vivian Cemetery officiated by Brian Opbroek.

Pat was born March 28, 1943 in Vivian, Louisiana to Carlos Robert Dempsey and Velma Lee Patterson Dempsey. He lived in this area all of his life. Pat loved working in the oil field. He enjoyed camping and boating. Pat loved to travel. He loved his family, and especially his grandkids.

Preceding Pat in death where his parents, his 3 brothers, Roger, Gus, and Bobby, his sister Lucille, and half sister Faye. He is survived by his wife Carrie Burney Dempsey of Mooringsport, Louisiana , his 3 children; Susan Dempsey of Vivian, Louisiana , Robert Dempsey and wife Sonya of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Johnny Dempsey and wife Gina of Shreveport, Louisiana, his step children; Nick Denison of Shreveport, Louisiana and Emily King and husband Ryan of Bossier City, Louisiana , his 3 sisters and 2 brothers; Estelle Adcock of Gilliam, Louisiana , Queenie Blizzard and husband Butch of Atlanta, Texas, Sue Howell of Vivian, Louisiana, Doyle Dempsey and wife Linda of Haughton, Louisiana, and Jimmy Dempsey and wife Peggy of Vivian, Louisiana, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robert Dempsey, Alex Dempsey, Johnny Dempsey, Jared Dempsey, Nick Dennison, and Doyle Lee Dempsey. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Driskell and Ryan King.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at North Caddo Medical Center for all their loving care and kindness.
