Funeral services celebrating the life of Cortez Bush White Rhoads, age 95 of Vivian, LA. will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Oil City United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Kent Rhoads and Rev. Trey McGuire officiating. Interment will follow at the Vivian Cemetery.

Mrs. Rhoads was born in Summerfield, LA on March 23, 1922 to James William Bush and Pearl Lillian Revel. After a brief struggle with Leukemia and Dementia, Mrs. Rhoads left this world to join her Savior in Glory on May 9, 2017.She was retired at the age of 86 from the Vivian Nursing Home, where she was an LPN for many years. She loved nursing and taking care of people. Mrs. Rhoads loved to read, work in her yard, sew, play games-Mexican Train and Chicken Foot and she loved to COOK. Her favorite sayings, “Come on eat a Lil more” and “Gods been so good to me”. Mrs. Rhoads was a faithful servant to our Lord and attended the Pentecostal Church.

Mrs. Rhoads is preceded in death by her first husband, Carl white and her second husband, Kenneth Rhoads, her parents 3 sisters and 1 brother, her daughter, Joyce Ann White Rhoads and her husband, Eddy, stepson, Melvin Rhoads. She is survived by her baby sister, Dorothy Jamison and husband, Freddie; son, Carl Timothy White and wife, Janice of Blanchard, LA; son, Marvin Rhoads and wife, Melva of Vivian, LA; daughter-in-law, Lucille Rhoads of Logansport, LA. Mrs. Rhoads is also survived by her grandchildren, Barry Rhoads and wife, LaNell, Ronnie Rhoads and wife, Robyn, Shane Rhoads and wife, Terris, Angie White, Keith White and wife, Christi, Carla White, Tiffany Rhoads McGuire and husband, Trey, Melissa Martin and husband, Eric and Gabe Loftin along with several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Mrs. Rhoads as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ronnie, Keith, Jonathon, Logan James, Logan Edward and Preston.

The family has requested that memorials be made to: Oil City UPC Mission Fund, P. O. Box 368, Oil City, LA. 71061
