He enlisted May 6, 1862 at Henderson, Texas. Company Muster Roll for January-February 1863 listed him as sick and in the hospital in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was also listed as assigned duty with the company on January 25, 1863 and then on detached service in Shreveport, Louisiana as of January 29, 1864. On February 7, 1865, he was reported as sick at the Keatchi Hospital.
