West Monroe - Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Edgar Hudson Berry (Ned), 86, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. James Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in the Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.
Mr. Berry was born on February 7, 1931 and passed away on January 27, 2018. He was a member of McClendon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Berry served in the United States Army and after his tour of duty, he married his wife of 63 years and raised two daughters. He was passionate about all things mechanical and automotive. He also enjoyed woodworking, welding, and was known for his talent in building and fixing anything. His greatest joys were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Berry was by far their biggest supporter and fan. Mr. Berry was a faithful and loving husband, a compassionate father, a devoted Papaw, and an encourager and friend to everyone he knew. He was adored by his family and will always be known for his selfless and patient heart. Mr. Berry is preceded in death by his parents, Orlean and William Gray Berry; brothers, Kenneth and Buddy Berry; and by his sister, Louise Hennen.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Elva Dean Berry; daughters, Kay Wallace and husband, Steve, Sandra Lawson and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Melissa Smith and husband, Raymond, Bryan Aycock, Amanda Lee and husband, Coty, Justin Lawson, and Evan Lawson; great grandchildren, Devin Bounds, Avery Bounds, Camryn Smith, Addison Lee and Anniston Lee.
Pallbearers will be Rick Hendricks, Jeff Hendricks, Gene Berry, Justin Lawson, Evan Lawson, Bryan Aycock and Coty Lee.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until Service Time on Wednesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA
