Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Brown Hislop, age 77, will be 3:00 P.M., Sunday, November 6, 2016 at First Baptist Church of West Monroe< LA in Feazel Chapel. Officiating will be Lonnie Stewart. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.

Charlotte was born on November 19, 1938, and passed away on November 4, 2016. She was a native of Columbia, LA but a lifelong resident of West Monroe, LA. She was an alumni of Columbia High School and graduated from Louisiana Tech University with honors. She was an English teacher in Tallulah, LA and a teacher at Ouachita High School and West Monroe High School. Charlotte was the music secretary for First Baptist Church of West Monroe for 22 years.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, James Edward “Ed” Hislop; sons, Mike Hislop and his wife, Shelley of Alexandria, LA and Jeff Hislop and his wife, Erin, of Broken Arrow, OK; grandsons, Ben Hislop, Grant Hislop, Clay Hislop of Alexandria, LA and Ian Hislop, Colin Hislop, and Connor Hislop of Broken Arrow, OK; brother, Donald R. Brown and his wife, Lynne of Heber Springs, AR; and sister-in-law, Millie Hislop Shankle of Mobile, AL.

Pallbearers will be Ben Hislop, Grant Hislop, Clay Hislop, Brent Wright, Patrick Brown and Todd Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be The Pathfinders Sunday School class.
