Elijah Jackson Guin, known to all who loved him as Jack, passed on to our Lord on July 6, 2020. Jack was born on June 16, 1925 in Jacksonville, Texas. He lived most of his life in Vivian, Louisiana with his beloved wife Flora, who preceded him in death in 2017.
Jack is survived by his son, Larry and wife, Jane. His grandchildren are: Michelle Adams, Tracey Simmons, Emily McMinn, Sara Rios, Aston Guin and Amber Hennigan and 16 great grandchildren. Jack was also preceded in death by his sons, Michael, Rodger and Rodger’s daughter, Jennifer, and Mark Guin.
Jack was a deacon for many years at Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a generous and kind Christian man who loved his family as well as his church family. His fondest memories were camping trips with many of his wonderful friends. He retired from Sears as an appliance service technician after thirty years of service and went on to continue this service to the people of Vivian and surrounding areas. To his beloved family he will always be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather, and great missed.
There will be a graveside service for Jack at the Vivian Cemetery on Saturday, July 11 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Billy flowers, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating.
Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA.
