Charles Ray Jaynes, 86, of Vivian, LA passed away on June 25, 2018 at his home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Vivian Cemetery, in Vivian, LA officiated by Rev. Bill Treadway. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 pm on Thursday, June 28th at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian.

Ray was born March 4, 1932 to John Ollie and Zora Jaynes. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Vivian. He was a member of the American Legion, and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a 50 year member of the Vivian Masonic Lodge 314. He served our country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents John and Zora Jaynes, by his sister Virginia Lynn, and his 3 brothers; Gene, Johnny, and Harold Jaynes. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Wynell Williams Jaynes, his 3 children; Darrell Jaynes and wife Linda, of Booneville, MS, Tony Jaynes and wife Anita of Omaha, NE, and David Jaynes and wife Kim of Hosston, LA, his brother, Ollie Jaynes and wife Hazel of Atlanta, TX, his sisters Bernice Simpson of Texarkana, TX, and Betty Clark and husband Bob of Tennyson, IN, his 2 grandchildren; Alaysia Jaynes Fredieu and husband Eric of Natchitoches, LA, and Curry Ray Jaynes of Hosston, LA.

Pallbearers will be his fellow Masons from the Ida and Vivian lodges.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Children’s Program.
