Michael Mark Cornelius, 63 of Vivian, LA passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 after a long illness and a heart transplant in January of 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, May 25, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Vivian, officiated by Rev. John Parker and Rev. Dustie Dunn. Burial will follow in Vivian Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, May 24th at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian from 6-8 pm. Michael was born November 30, 1948 in Vivian to his parents Connie and Bessie Cornelius. He has lived in the Vivian area all of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vivian. He was retired from the Caddo Parish School System. It was said of him that he was the sweetest man there ever was. He loved his family especially his grandkids, He loved camping, Watching Westerns, and baseball, and loved to watch the t-ball players from Day Care. He loved spending time with his special brother Bobby Crye who would take him on rides whenever he could. Michael was preceded in death by parents, Connie and Bessie Cornelius and his brother Max Cornelius. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Trixie Cornelius of Vivian, his daughter, Michaelle Spears of Vivian, his sisters; Beverly Hartline of Vivian, LaNora Festavan of Vivian, and Linda Owens and husband Donald of Oil City, his 2 granddaughters Haylee Johnson and Hanna Spears of Vivian and many other family members and friends. Pallbearers will be Kody Alexander, Clint Alexander, Andy Alexander, David Crye, Greg Floyd, Robert Crye, Keith Owens, Chad Cook and Alvis Covey.
