John William Hall III, 69, husband of Royce Simmons Hall, died February 13, 2017 at Baptist Health Lexington. Born March 26, 1947 in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was the son of the late John William Hall, Jr and Nora Allen Hall. Mr Hall was a retired professor of the University of Kentucky and was a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He served in the US Army Reserves and retired as a Colonel after 40 years. Mr Hall was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors other than his wife include three children, Lisa (Donald) Hurst, Stephanie (Michael) Fladung, and John M (Ashley) Hall; two grandchildren, Amanda and Ian Hurst; three siblings, Charlie Hall, Denise Collier, and Tom Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Vivian Cemetery in Vivian, Louisiana .
The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions are suggested to St Jude Children’s Hospital, the American Cancer Society, the Wounded Warrior Project, or to a charity of one’s choice.
