Funeral Services for Alberta Mangum, age 86 will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Vivian, LA. with Rev. Richard Beeman officiating. Interment will follow in the Vivian Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mangum was born on January 8, 1925 in Miller County, AR to Harrison and Kate Gilbert Thomason and passed away on September 5, 2011 at the Springhill Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was a seamstress and belonged to the Pentecostal church.
Mrs. Mangum was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Kate Thomason, husband of 42 years, Wiley Mangum, son, Edgar Mangum, daughter, Betty Clark and great great grandson, Austin Nall. She is survived by her son, Elvin Mangum of Taylor, AR; Doyle Mangum and wife; Sandy of Haughton, LA; Harlan Mangum and wife Carol of McNeil, Ar; daughters, Wyvonne Meshell of Shreveport, LA; and Vanessia Thomas of Haugton, LA. She is also survived by her sister, Laura Elsie Ameis of Texarkana, AR; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
Honoring Mrs. Mangum as pallbearers will be Ben Jones, Heath Clark, Clint Meshell, Ken Goodpaster, John Burt and John Wayne Coker.
