Funeral Services for Mrs. Vera Grace Duck, age 78, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 31, 2017, at the New Sarepta Baptist Church, Sarepta, LA, with Rev. Marty Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Minden, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home - Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at New Sarepta Baptist Church, Sarepta, LA.
Mrs. Duck was born on May 12, 1939 to Vester K.and Cleavie Miller in Martin, LA and passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in Sarepta, LA.
She was a resident of Sarepta, LA., and a loving wife and mother, who loved her family with all her heart. She enjoyed reading, solving crosswords, and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by three sons, Gene Hood Jr. and wife Jill of Springhill, LA, Carl Hood and wife Tina of Ruston, LA, Marty Hood, Sr. of Shongaloo, LA; two daughters, Karen Engle and husband Curtis of Sarepta, LA, Lynette Dragland and husband David of Shongaloo, LA; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great grand-children.
Mrs. Duck was preceded in death by her parents; husband, R.H. Duck; brothers, Vester K. Miller, Jr., and William Miller; and sister, Doris Weaver.
Pallbearers will be Andy Dragland, Jeffery Hood, Dallas Ferrell, Joshua Dragland, Colton Waldron, and Lynn Hood Jr.
