Russell Michael Williams, age 59, a resident of Bogalusa, died Sunday, May 11 in Tulane Medical Center, New Orleans. Born Nov. 2, 1948, he was a U.S. Navy veteran who served two tours in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Giacone Williams of Bogalusa; his mother and stepfather, Maxine and Cullie Jordan of Bogalusa; two sons, Ryan Barrett (Becky) Williams and Michael Ashton Williams, both of Bogalusa; one step-daughter, Holly (Paul) Cotton of Bogalusa; a sister, Kathy (Leon) Graham of Bogalusa; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Quinn of Covington; two sisters-in-law, Marian Burr and Jerri Ann Giacone, both of Bogalusa; a brother-in-law, Carlo Giacone Jr. of Covington; four grandchildren, Barrett Russell Williams, Bennett Raymond Williams, Taylor Marie Cotton and Hayden George Cotton.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Wilson Williams; and one brother, Walter Nelson Williams.

Visitation was Monday, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home. The funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Keith Sheridan officiated, with interment following in Ponemah Cemetery, with military graveside rites by Magic City Post 24, American Legion.
