Charles Earl Varnado, Sr., age 62, a resident of Bogalusa, LA, passed away in Empire, LA on May 4, 2009.
He was a member and deacon of Monroe Street Baptist Church. He was a member of Varnado Masonic Lodge #461. Member of the Eastern Star. Retired from the Louisiana National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Thompson Varnado of Bogalusa, LA;

1 Daughter, Colby Varnado (John) Albasini of Carriere, MS;

1 Son, Charles Earl "Chad" (Kelley) Varnado, Jr. of Metairie, LA;

3 Sisters, Barbara Ann Saucier of Bogalusa, LA, Delores Dixon of Brookhaven, MS and Edna Whittington of Baton Rouge, LA

2 Brothers, Billy Ray Varnado of Bogalusa, LA and Reuben Varnado of Decatur, AL;

3 Grandchildren, Sophia Elizabeth Albasini, John Joseph "Joey" Albasini, Jr. and Conner Edward Varnado.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home at 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with Masonic Services to be held at 7:00 P.M. by the Varnado Masonic Lodge #461 on Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

Visitation will continue at 9:00 a.m. with Funeral Services at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Chad Jenkins will officiate and Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery with full military graveside services by the Louisiana National Guard on Thursday, May 7, 2009.
