He enlisted at Camp Moore, Louisiana on December 11, 1861. His name appeared on roll as being in the 1 Mississippi CSA Hospital, Jackson, Mississippi, March 17-28, 1862, for debility. He also appeared on roll as sick in the hospital at Greenville Hospital, Alabama for September-October 1862. His name appeared on Roll as Prisoner of War of units surrendered at Citronelle, Alabama on May 4, 1865. He was paroled May 13, 1865 at Meridian, Mississippi.
