Coach Bobby Lee Schneider, Sr., a native of Biloxi, MS, and a longtime resident of Bogalusa, LA, died at his residence in Slidell, LA on Tuesday, May 14. 2019 at the age of 86 surrounded by his family.

He was a coach, mentor, and a teacher to many people who grew up in Bogalusa, LA. He served his country in the United States Navy and the United States Army Reserve.

He is survived by his children, Bobby Schneider, Jr., Cynthia Schneider, Keith Schneider, Rachel Miley, Jerry Schneider, and Michael Schneider; 16 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. He is also survived by other relatives, and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Velma Schneider; his parents, Nelson and Pauline Schneider; one brother, Morris Jerry Schneider; three sons, Christopher David Schneider, Mark Douglas Schneider, Raymond Morris Schneider; and five grandchildren.

A visitation honoring Coach Schneider's life will be at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will continue at Annunciation Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Father Daniel Brouillette will officiate. Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.

Velma Aurelia Flowers Schneider, age 70, died Thursday, June 12 at her residence in Bogalusa. She was a charter member of Calvary Christian Fellowship Church where she taught classes and coached young ladies softball.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby L. Schneider Sr.; her sons, Bobby L.(Janet) Schneider Jr. of Prairieville, Mark D. Schneider and Keith A. Schneider, both of Biloxi, Raymond M. (Jonna) Schneider and Michael J. Schneider, both of Bogalusa and Jerry D. Schneider of Slidell; her daughters, Rachel (Kerry) Miley of Bogalusa and Cynthia Schneider of Columbus, Ind.; three sisters, Juanita Pollard of Canton, Ga., Peggy (Doug) Nitcavic of Mobile and Eleanor (Gary)Tyndall of Oceans Springs; two brothers, William Flowers of Biloxi and Aubrey Flowers of Pensacola, Fla.; special sisters-in-law, Barbara Keel and Eunice Flowers; grandchildren, Courtney Taylor, Scott Schneider, Bobby L Schneider III, Rozie Schneider, Christina Byers, Kalee Freeman, Kimber Schneider, Corey Schneider, Krystal Hudson, Lynn Hudson, Tammy Hudson, Harold Hudson, Mark Schneider and Josh Schneider; and great-grandchildren, Madsyn Freeman, Gavin Samford, Rae Diamond, Darrylyn Hudson, Stephen Schneider and Jeremy Schneider.

She was preceded in death by one son, Christopher David; her parents, William and Essie Flowers; two brothers, Earl and Alton Flowers; two grandchildren, Carl Anthony Hudson and Melissa LeAnne Schneider.

Visitation is today from 6 to 10 p.m. at Calvary Christian Fellowship Church. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday, June 14 from 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 10 a.m. The Rev. Larry Lassley will officate with interment to follow in Ponemah Cemetery.
