Company H 31 Regiment Mississippi Infantry

He enlisted on March 13, 1862 at Persimon Springs, Mississippi. He was sent to the hospital on December 18, 1862, and again on June 26, 1863, cause was not readily known. No other records were available.
The 31 Regiment Mississippi Infantry was first organized as 6 (Orr's) Battalion Mississippi Infantry. In February and March 1862, it was increased to ten companies and mustered into the Confederate service as Orr's Regiment Mississippi Infantry. Shortly afterward the designation was changed to the 31 Regiment Mississippi Infantry. About April 9, 1865, this regiment was consolidated with the 3 and 40 Regiments Mississippi Infantry and formed the 3 Consolidated Regiment Mississippi Infantry.
