Murry Burr enlisted on September 12, 1861, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 33. His name appeared on a Roll of Prisoners of War when his unit was surrendered, on May 26, 1865, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was paroled on June 10, 1865, in Alexandria, Louisiana.
