SHREVEPORT, LA - A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Sam Capuano, 75, will be Friday, September 14, 2012 at 10am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Celebrating the mass will be Monsignor Earl V. Provenza. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery, Haughton, LA. Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 5pm to 7pm at Rose-Neath Marshall Street. The Vigil service will follow at 7pm.

Sam Capuano was born on March 7, 1937 and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer. Sam lived his entire life in the Shreveport/Bossier area. Sam owned and operated several neighborhood grocery stores including Central Street Grocery, Market Food Store, and Madison Park Food Store. For the past 30 years, he has owned and operated Shreveport Electric Motors until his retirement in 2010. Sam will be best remembered for his sense of humor and generous heart. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Sam was preceded in his death by his parents, Mike and Lena Capuano, sisters, Flora Capuano, Vesta Peters, and Mary Peters, and brother, Vince Capuano. He was also proceeded in death by his former wife, Frances Dulin Capuano, and grandson, Michael Louis Sirven.

Left to cherish Sam's memory is his daughter, Cheryl Capuano Sirven and husband, George; granddaughter, Natalie Sirven, and grandson, William Sirven, all of Shreveport, LA. His brother, Roy Capuano; sister, Josephine Peters and husband, Sam; sister-in-law, Rose Capuano, all of Bossier City, LA; several nieces and nephews; and long time companion, Marge Wallace of Benton, LA.

Honoring Sam as pallbearers will be nephews, Mickey Capuano, Tommy Peters, and Dale Cassidy, Grant Cassidy, Scott Peters; and long time friends, Lloyd Cooley, W.B. "Pete" King, and Roland LaCaze.

Special thanks go to the staff of St. Joseph's Hospice and Grace Home.
