June 19, 1920 - February 2, 2010
Hazel Louise Morris Olsen, 89, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. She was a wonderful and caring mother and grandmother who devoted her entire life to her family.
Born June 19, 1920, she graduated in 1940 from the Elizabeth Sullivan Nursing School and went on to serve as a nurse in the U.S. Army. When she retired from Bogalusa Community Medical Center, she was a registered nurse in the maternity ward.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Larry) Lalumandier of Bogalusa; one son, Clifton (Cathy) Olsen of Bogalusa; six grandchildren: Jaque Jones, Nicol Hebert, Mary Louise Mansur, Kent Lalumandier, Turk Olsen and Derek Olsen; three great-grandchildren: Susan Jones, Peyton Plaisance and Summer Louise Juneau; four great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rhoda Morris; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Quici and Buster Olsen and Zoie and Tom Bush; brother- and sister-in-law, Tilmer and Doris Morris.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and continue on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
