Gertrude Mamie Munn, age 93, died Friday, May 30 in Lakeview Regional Medical Center, Covington. She was a resident of Bogalusa and a member of Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Charles (Mathilde) Munn of Vancleave, Miss.; four daughters, Barbara (Harold) Poche of Covington, Eualene (Gene) Baker of Denham Springs, Carolyn (Jimmy Ezell) Smotherman of Varnado, and Frances (Rodger) Talley of Ama, La.; two brothers, W.J. Brooks of Gulfport, and Rev. Howard Brooks of Malden, Mo.; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eual Munn; her parents, Charles and Maude Brooks; three brothers, Gaston Brooks, Alston Brooks and Evan Brooks; and one sister, Evelyn Byrd.
Visitation was held Monday, June 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home and continued Tuesday, June 3 from noon until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Marcus Rosa, Rev. Howard Brooks and Rev. Larry Mizell were in charge of religious services, with interment following in Ponemah Cemetery.
