STAFF SERGEANT U S Army
105 Anti Aircraft Artillery
World War II
July 6, 1914 - December 7, 2017

Hubert H Mizell was a legend in his own time. A bronc rider from the age of 3, he was born with a fearless heart, always looking for his next adventure in Isabel, LA. He proudly served his country in WWII as a Staff Sargent in the 105th anti-aircraft artillery, a separate battalion, in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He returned home to Bogalusa, LA to marry the love of his life, Mildred Stafford Mizell and begin his next adventure as an all-American cowboy, riding the range for the next 60 years. He was also a faithful servant to Christ serving as a Deacon in the Ben’s Ford Baptist Church since 1953. He shared his story and love of Christ with all who met him, even to his last days. Hero to many he was known most for his passion for life, horses, and family as well as his captivating story-telling ability. Although he has been called home, his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends who love him dearly. He was preceded by his parents Benton and Theresa King Mizell, sisters Velma Byrd (husband Clayton) and Marie Rogers (husband Elmer), wives Mildred Stafford Mizell and Juanita Roach Mizell and nieces Francis Brown and Sue Adams. Psalms 76:26: My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.
