BOGALUSA n Juanita Roach Mizell, 79, a resident of Bogalusa, departed after a
lengthy illness with cancer Tuesday in her home. A devoted wife and loving
mother, she retired from the Bogalusa School System as secretary of Long Avenue
School and was a faithful member of Ben's Ford Baptist Church, family members
said.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert H. Mizell of Bogalusa; two sons, Kenneth
Roach, and Gary Roach and his wife Cindy, all of Bogalusa; two daughters, Anita
Thomas of Pine, and Betty Moran and her husband Richard of Bogalusa; a
step-daughter, Shelia Anthaume and her husband Octave of Lafayette; a sister, Joy
Keen of Bogalusa; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, Hubert B. Roach; her parents,
William and Mary Bush; and three sisters, Elsie Corkern, Edna Giordano, and
Rose Mae Jones.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home today from 6-9 p.m. and will
continue tomorrow from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service, to be conducted
from the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Bros. Lynn Martin and Mike Jenkins will
officiate at the service. Interment will follow in Ponemah Cemetery.
