Mr. Roy Arthur Schully, age 76 years, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Born on July 2, 1941 to the late Octave Foerster Schully and Lucille LeBoeuf Schully. He is survived by Patricia Lynn Delery Schully, to whom he was married for 53 years, and together they had 2 children, Darren Paul Schully and Lisa Lucille Schully Arrington (Henry Jr “Hank”). Roy is also survived by his 2 granddaughters, Lindsay Sawyer Temple and Sophia Lucille Temple, whom he affectionately called his “#1 girl” and his “co-pilot”.

Roy attended St. Anthony of Padua, was a proud graduate of Jesuit High School (Class of ‘59), attended LSU and graduated from LSUNO. He was also a member of US Army Reserve (1967-1972) and in later years enjoyed being a member of Beach Club and Metairie Country Club.

Roy was the founder and owner of SMA Company, a manufacturer’s representative company, selling air conditioning components to contractors. He and his daughter Lisa worked diligently to keep customers happy for 20+ years. He also officiated local high school football games for 20 years (1980s-1990s), earning the chief white referee cap for most Country Day and St. Martin football games.

He is preceded in death by his siblings Octave Foerster, Jr. (Charlotte), Lucille Marie O'Neil (Rob), Robert Paul (the late Janet), Kent Raymond, and Lloyd Martin (Sylvia). Roy is also survived by his brother, Donald K Schully (the late Gigi), and many cousins, nieces and nephews, all whom he adored.

Family and friends are invited to St Angela Merici Church, 901 Beverly Garden Drive, Metairie for visitation on Saturday, June 30, 2018 beginning at 10am, Services of Remembrance 11:30am and Mass at noon. Gravesite burial will follow at Metairie Cemetery, Foerster Tomb.
