Douglas Ray Stafford Lee, 59, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009 at his residence in Bogalusa. A native of Washington Parish, he was a painter in the construction trade and a member of the Louisiana State Racing Commission. He was a dear friend to all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Jean Stogner Hammons of Bogalusa; one brother, Huey D. "Pug" (June) Stafford of Bogalusa; two nieces, Jodi (Glenn) Gaude' of Covington and Angelica (Larry) Dodson of Unionville, Va.; three great nephews: Tyler "T Man 1" Dodson, Trevor "T Man 2" Dodson and Travis "T Man 3" Gaude'; three aunts: Peggy Brewton, Katy (Ken) Collins and Carrie Stogner; one uncle, W. R. "Bill" (Betty June) Stogner; and four stepsisters: Dolly Horner, Patricia (Troy) Billings, Laureen (Daryle) Brady and Tammy Lynn (Andy) Authement.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry M. Lee and his stepdad, Walter J. Hammons.
Visitation will be held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Chad Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Ponemah Cemetery.
