May 4, 1849 - October 3, 1889
He was the Chief Clerk in the crew of the steamboat Corona. He was among the crew and passengers killed when the Corona's boiler exploded on October 3, 1889. The steamboat was on the Mississippi River near Phophet Island when the explosion occurred.
