Ernest Wade Herring, a native of Bogalusa, died Sunday, April 3 on his 56th birthday at Capitol House Nursing Home in Baton Rouge. He was a resident of St. Francisville Country Manor Nursing Home.

He is survived by his sister, Linda Herring Grant and her husband, Roy Lee Grant and Annie Mae and Vernon Grant, all of Loranger; nieces, Paula Theriot Wise of Picayune and Janelle Herring Grouchy of Kenner; nephews, Leroy P. Theriot of Taft, Texas, David M. Schetrompf of Loranger, Danny J. Theriot of Mandeville, Charles H. Herring of Kenner, Richard W. Herring of Albany, La., Michael S. Holm of Picayune, Joseph Duvernay of Picayune, Steven P. Theriot and Evan A. Theriot of Taft, Texas, Frankie Denny of Kenner, Richard W. Herring Jr. and Cody Herring of Albany, La.; great-nieces, Jordan Martinez of Taft, Texas, Gabrielle L. Tastet and Lauren D. Tastet of Mandeville; maternal aunts and uncles, Margie Lawson and James Lawson of Metairie, Virgie McDonald Cooper of Bogalusa, Ruth Cooper of Chickasaw, Ala.,; cousins, Brenda R. Moore of Franklinton, Dorothy Whittington of Metairie, Robert, Raymond and Billy Tannehill of Bogalusa, Deborah T. Moran of Houston, Texas, Marilyn T. Moran of Covington, Dianne T. Webb of Bogalusa, Deborah L. Touche, Jennifer L. Demarco of Harahan, Lisa D. Lawson of Metairie, Mark A. Lawson of Madisonville, Joseph Cooper of Bogalusa; paternal aunts and uncles, Ernestine H. Thomas

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vonnie Austine Cooper Herring and Ray Heyward Herring; a brother, Roland Warren Herring; maternal grandparents, Louella Shoemaker Cooper and William Washington Cooper; paternal grandparents, Jeff Roland Herring and Minnie Lee Terry Herring; niece, Donna Gail Theriot of Schetrompf; aunts and uncles, Virgie Cooper Rester, Virginia H Cribb, Vivian C. Tannehill, Otis C. Herring, Thelma H. Thompson, Eunice H. Lewis, Oneal Cooper and JaHack Cooper.

Visitation was held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home Saturday, April 8 from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Gerald Henderson officiated, with interment in Ponemah Cemetery.
