Franklin Milton Griffith, Jr passed peacefully into his Father's house . He was a beloved husband, a loving father and grandfather, a devoted brother, favorite uncle and great uncle. He was a native of Prentiss, Mississippi and a resident of Bogalusa since 1951. He was well known for his love of athletics, having been named as a Prentiss, Mississippi all-star basketball player. He continued in his pursuit after coming to Bogalusa. He was player/coach of baseball, basketball and softball teams, YMCA league, and managed and played for the Gaylord teams.

He coached Little League, Church League and YMCA League boy's teams. He was a veteran of WW II having served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U S.Army and was in the Occupation forces of Japan immediately after WW II. He served as a Deacon in First Baptist Church for 40 years, taught youth and adults and served on various committees. He was a member of the Board of Directors of both the YMCA and the YWCA. He was retired from Crown Zellerbach Container Division as corrugater supervisor.

Survivors include wife, Yvonne Malley Griffith of Bogalusa; son, Frank Griffith, III of Baton Rouge; daughter & son-in-law, Susan and Randy Donald of West Monroe, Louisiana; grandsons, Alan and Michael Donald of West Monroe;sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and James Earl Hall of Prentiss, Mississippi, Dixie and Walter Walker of Wesson, ississippi and Kitty and James Riley of Clinton, Mississippi; brother and sister-in-law, Magee and Catherine Griffith of Prentiss, Mississippi; nine nieces, six nephews; several great nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Ona and Franklin Griffith, Sr; sister, Mildred Walker; grandson, Nathan Scott Griffith; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Norma and Joe Malley and brother-in-law, William W Malley.
