Ruth Edwards, age 78, a resident of Bogalusa, died Sunday, Jan. 1 at the residence of her son.
She is survived by her husband, Adrian Fredrick Edwards Sr.; three sons, A.F. Edwards Jr. and wife, Agnes, Bradford E. Edwards and wife, Louise, and Michael R. Edwards and wife, Sandy all of Bogalusa; two sisters, JoAnn Beeson of Bogalusa and Nita Gayle Frasier of Poplarville;; one brother, Prentiss Ray Wheat of Buck Branch; five grandchildren, David Wayne Edwards, Leshia Laruth Edwards, Ricky Edwards, Michelle Edwards Hedderal and Devin Edwards, three great grandchildren, Nikki Edwards, Jason Miller and Kristal Blackwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Prentis and Louis Wheat; two brothers, Curtis Paul Wheat and Richard Wayne Wheat.
Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 2 from 5-9 p.m.at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home and continued Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Vanwinkle officiating.
Interment followed in Ponemah Cemetery.
