Purple Heart
Henry H. "Pete" DiPietro, 81, a resident of Bogalusa died Saturday at his home.
He was a WWII Veteran who earned a Purple Heart while surviving as a P.O.W. He was also a member of Union Avenue Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Dale Hines and Lisa DiPietro and Allen Stogner; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricco and Sandra DiPietro; three brothers, James DiPietro, Peter DiPietro and Geno DiPietro; eight grandchildren, Michelle Melder, Lance Melder, Toni Wells, Wendy Wells, Anthony DiPietro, Jodi DiPietro, Lauren DiPIetro and Alex DiPietro.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Blanche L. DiPietro; and a brother, Marco DiPietro.
Visitation will be today from 5:30-9 p.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be tomorrow at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Dr. Thomas Steele will officiate.
Interment will follow in Ponemah Cemetery.
