Tom Byrum.

Tom Byrum, foreman in the G. S. L. Co., planing mill, died in the city hospital on the 2nd inst. after suffering for about a week with pneumonia.

Tom was born in Robertson county, Texas, September 15, 1881. He was left an orphan when quite young, and was reared by an older sister. He professed his faith in Christ when sixteen years of age and united with the Henry Prairie Baptist church. He leaves, besides a host of friends to mourn his departure, two brothers and three sisters, all of whom live in Texas. Mr. Byrum came to Bogalusa some six years ago and entered the employ of the G. S. L. Co.

The funeral was conducted at the home of Arthur Bass where Mr. Byrum was boarding at the time of his death. The service was conducted by Rev. W. E. Watkins, pastor of the second Baptist church. The high esteem in which the deceased was held by those who knew him was well attested by the large number who attended the funeral. Among the number was one brother from Texas. The burial took place in the city cemetery.
