BIRMINGHAM, AL - Lessie D. Boatwright, age 88, died Friday at her residence in Birbingham, AL.
For the past seven years, she lived with her son in Alabama. She was a member of
Union Ave. Baptist Church and an associate member of Alabaster First Baptist
Church in Alabama.
Boatwright was a member of the Amaranth and Eastern Star. She was a senior
volunteer for the Shelby Baptist Medical Center, where she worked over 1,000 hours.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Olen and Rosemary Boatwright of
Birmingham, AL; one daughter, Mary Jane Niles of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos N. Boatwright.
Visitation was at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Sunday from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Funeral service was yesterday at 10 a.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home.
Interment followed at Ponemah Cemetery.
