February 15, 1829 - October 10, 1886
He enlisted April 30, 1862, in Simpson County, Mississippi. On October 20, 1862, he was promoted from Private to Second Sergeant. On July 9, 1863, he was captured at Port Hudson, Louisiana and paroled on July 12, 1863. He was again captured on April 9, 1865, at Blakely, Alabama. His name appears on the Roll of Prisoners of War received at Ship Island, Mississippi on April 15, 1865. His name also appears on the Roll of Prisoners of War transferred from Ship Island to Vicksburg, Mississippi on May 1, 1865. His name appears on the Roll of Prisoners of War of 39 Mississippi Regiment, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel W E Ross, surrendered at Citronelle, Alabama, on May 4, 1865. He was paroled at Jackson, Mississippi on May 12, 1865.
