John Andrew Hunt
Died on May 12, 1947, John Andrew Hunt, age 89 years, at his home in Ward 2. On December 2, 1880, he was married to Ellen Galloway, who passed away January 12, 1900. Surviving him are eight living children, Oscar, Eddie, Lannie, of Franklinton and Spurgeon of Varnado; Mrs. George Cooper, Mrs. Bent Knight and Mrs. Dan Magee, of Franklinton; Mrs. Larence Taylor, Ponchatoula, by his first marriage. By his second marriage to Sarah Keaton, who died in 1910, there are six living children: Buckler, R. D. and Latimer, of Covington; Mrs. Floyd Galloway of Bogalusa; Mrs. T. J. Ezell and Miss Rosa Hunt, of Covington. He has 68 grandchildren, 103 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. His remains were laid to rest in the Noble cemetery near Pine in Washington parish.
