COVINGTON n Claude "Jack" Carnegie Sr., 52, a resident of the Pine community, died at 1 a.m. yesterday in St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. He was a member of Crain's Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Phelps Carnegie of Pine; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Alisha Carnegie Jr. of Bogalusa, and Gilbert and Lisa Spears Jr. of Franklinton; three daughters and a son-in-law, Shelly Carnegie of Pine, Sherry Spears of Bogalusa, and Cindy and Grady Polkey of Franklinton; a brother, the Rev. Willard Carnegie of Pearl River; three sisters, Terez Alsobrooks, Ann Jarrell, both of Pine, and Sue Carnegie of Ohio; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Esco and Lela Jenkins Carnegie; three brothers, Pee Wee Carnegie, Marvin Stewart, and Dillard Carnegie; and a sister, Shirley Jerrell.

Visitation will be held at Crain Funeral Home today from 5-10 p.m. and will continue after 9 a.m. tomorrow until time of the funeral service, to be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. Elds. Clyde cooper and Richard Magee will officiate at the service.

Burial will follow in the Nobles Cemetery.
