BOSSIER CITY, LA – Services will be held for Ilonka “Sharon” Carter at 10:00 am Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Sharon was an Army veteran with over 16 years of service as a Human Resources Sergeant where she served in Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield and Operation Iraqi Freedom. She worked as a dental assistant at Overton Brooks Veterans Affairs Hospital. She loved to travel, read, mentor and to help others. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles, gardening and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Greer. She is survived by her husband, Jacolby Carter; father, Clydell Greer; children, Kyle, Jamauri and Amber; sisters, Ilris, Mariana, and Renell; brothers, Johan “Tony” and Michael; and one precious granddaughter Mariah. She also leaves to cherish lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
