Husband of Brenda Chance Riley
BOGALUSA -James S. "Bo" Riley died Sunday, Aug. 19 after struggling for several years with bad health. Born in Bogalusa on Feb. 28,1939, he was a life-long resident of Bogalusa, a Master Mason who was active with Center Lodge No. 224, F&AM, and a member of Monroe Street Baptist Church.
He is survived by his spouse, Brenda Chance, of Bogalusa; one daughter Tonya L. Riley of Machias, Maine; one step-daughter, Carolyn (Blaine) Jenkins, of Huntsville, Ala.; one step-son, Christopher (Mary) Chance of Pine; two sisters-in law, Pat (Mike) Loreno of Baton Rouge, and Cathryn (Hershell) Westmoreland of Pine; many friends considered him as a second or adopted dad; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Hazel Riley; one brother, Kenny Riley; one nephew, Kenny Riley; the mother of his daughter, Betty Taylor Riley; and Tonya's partner, Karen J. Carroll.
Masonic rites were held at noon today at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, with visitation following until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow in McGehee Cemetery.
