Daughter of Edmond James and Dulley Benson Maxwell Carlisle
Mary was the daughter of Edmund Carlisle and Dully Benson (Maxwell) Carlisle. She married Edmund C. Nolan on Dec. 4, 1870 in Lawrence Co., MS. Sometimes her married name was found spelled Noland. Mary and Edmund had the following children Nettie, William G., Leroy, Georgia, Alice, Ella, Mandie L., and Ollie May. According to her answer in the 1900 census she had had 10 with 8 living. By 1910 she had 7 living children.
