FRANKLINTON Mary Sumrall Magee Creel, 77, a resident of the Lawrence Creek Community, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Riverside Medical Center. She was a retired supervisor at Rutter-Rex Manufacturing in Franklinton and a member of the Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband James Creel of Franklinton; her daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Billy Knight of Franklinton; two stepsons and their wives, Hershel and Matilda Creel, and Gilbert and Deb Creel, all of Franklinton; two sisters, Ada Thomas of Franklinton and Hilda Carnegie of Bogalusa; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ella Sumrall of Franklinton; a granddaughter and husband, Holly and Matthew Stogner of Franklinton; three step-granddaughters, Kandi and Brad Jones of Varnado, Bridgette and Richy Spears of Franklinton, and Kris and Josh Penton all of Franklinton; two step-grandsons, Cody Creel and Wayne Duncan, both of Franklinton; seven step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ott Magee; and her parents, Morgan and Rosa Dean Barber Sumrall.
Visitation will be held at Crain Funeral Home today from 5-10 p.m. and after 8 a.m. tomorrow until time of the funeral service, to be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Elds. Duane Ball, Lerand Hunt, and Richard Magee will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Magee Cemetery at Lawrence Creek.
