FRANKLINTON - Betty Lou Dykes Brooks, 57, a resident of Tylertown, died at 7:50 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11 in St. Tammany Parish Hosp-ital, Covington. She was a member of Faith Taber-nacle Church at Pine.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Brooks of Tylertown; three daughters, Betty Darlene (Byron) Graham, Becky (William) Sumrall and Donna (Bobby) Schilling, all of Tylertown; one son, Glenis (Jana) Brooks of Tylertown; her mother: Lexie Crowe Dykes of Franklinton; two brothers, Milton "Mickey" Dykes and Kenneth Dykes, both of Franklinton; three sisters, Diane Strickland of Kent-wood, Janie Smith of Franklinton and Mary Tate of Pine; seven grandchildren, Dorman Dewayne Sumrall, Whitney Graham, Amber Sumrall, B.J. Schillings, Rustin Graham, Samantha Crenshaw, Kaylie Brooks, Riley Brooks and Abigail Schillings.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Dykes; and a daughter, Denise Brooks.
Visitation was at Faith Tabernacle Church after 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 until time for the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13 with Rev. Jerry Cox, Aaron Cox and Rev. Terry McCain officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Crain Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
