MAURINE JONES WHITFIELD, AGE 86
And a resident of Enon died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at her residence.
She was born on March 1, 1922. She graduated from Southeastern University in 1943 and did post graduate work at Tulane School of Social Work. She spent 25 years as a dedicated child welfare worker in Washington and Tangipahoa Parishes. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was active in WMU.
Survived by: Daughter: Monica Whitfield of Enon, 2 Sons and daughters in law: Scott and Phyllis Whitfield of Enon, Ross and Rhonda Whitfield of Denton, NC, 4 Grandchildren and Spouse: Carlie and Jesse Whitfield of Enon, Stuart Whitfield of Kissimmee, FL, Lindsay and Ryan Bierds of Raleigh, NC, 1 Sister and brother in law: Roselyn and Tommy Casanova of Enon, Many beloved nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Whitfield, her parents Wilson and Eda Wascom Jones, a sister Vae Jones and a brother Captain Stanley Jones.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home from 5 PM until 9 PM Wednesday, May 28, 2008 and after 9 AM Thursday, May 29, 2008. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, May 29, 2008 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Edmond Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.
